Sarah was born and raised in small-town Michigan and remains a die-hard Wolverine. However, she escaped the cold and completed her undergraduate degree at the University of California, San Diego, where she rowed crew on the Varsity crew team (port, stroke), and she and her team finished 2nd in the country each year. She then completed her law degree at the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, where she graduated with honors. During her time at Hastings, she completed a prestigious externship with Justice Joyce Kennard of the California Supreme Court, competed as part of the number one moot court team in the country, and won the moot court state championship.
Sarah began her legal career in 2013 at Schuering Zimmerman & Doyle, LLP, a medical malpractice defense firm in Sacramento, and became partner in 2021. After more than 11 years at the Schuering firm, Sarah accepted a partnership position with the Pollara Law Group in January 2025. Sarah’s practice is exclusively medical malpractice defense, inclusive of administrative matters (i.e., licensing board inquiries), and she has extensive trial experience as well as a record-high dismissal rate. She offers professional, personalized, experienced, and dedicated representation of medical professionals and medical facilities across California.
Outside of work, Sarah has a beautiful son (born in March 2022), Rex, and she is enjoying every minute of showing him the world; he visited 11 countries before he turned 3! When not traveling the world or working, Sarah and Rex like to spend time with their dogs (Sarah’s other babies!) and their family and friends!
